Women, Technology and Leadership

Technology as a field is predominantly male. This is especially true in leadership and management, where the vast majority of employees are men. This pattern is beginning to change, however, and museums, with so many female employees, are especially well-aligned to support and encourage female leaders in the technology and media workforce.

To begin to encourage women to step up to leadership positions, we first need a place to change the dialogue. To stop young professional women from making it seem like they are floating along taking what comes to them, while men plan and make choices and steer the world. We need a place for women to learn how to take credit for their ideas, stop apologizing, and own their careers with intentionality and purpose.
