Let’s move all the museums out to the airport.

A rhetorical investigation in to the idea that, in order to fulfill the dual and sometimes competing mandates of access and preservation as well as to meet our fiduciary responsibilities, maybe the physical and conceptual architectures best suited to the needs of the cultural heritage sector are found in the airport.

Does the present hijack the longer-term mission of the museum as institution with the its focus on building-as-spectacle wrappers for our collections and is the lowly storage facility a necessary provocation to ensure a sustainable future?
