Why: The interactive map encourages enquiry and discovery, which are key elements of any digital resource for museums.  One of the strong points of the map is that seamlessly integrates different sources of information which is contextualised using visual cues in the interface and through the use of simple English.

The combination of real time information along with information about objects across various collections gives the map relevance for a virtual as well as physical visitor. It doesn’t assume an automatic relationship.

And finally, I’ve tried it on several different devices and appreciate how it loads with little fuss and seems agile. There is no sense that one is waiting for a lumbering, resource heavy ‘app’.
