Louvre-Nintendo Audio Guide: the results of the implementation facing the original goals

Two years ago, in April 2012, the musée du Louvre launched a new audio guide that had been completely redesigned. It was a first in many ways for the museum: we chose a game console as a guidance tool, we decided to operate the service on our own, we worked for the first time in partnership with a very famous Japanese company… Now, two years after the implementation, we are able to take stock of this project thanks to a study we conducted last year. We have both quantitative and qualitative results which allow us to identify our users, their uses, and to measure their satisfaction or disatisfaction. Some of those results, surprisingly, shakes up what we thought we knew about audio guides and perhaps could help us to rethink this traditional museum service.
