Guidekick: The Future of Mobile Interpretation
Garrett Lauringson, Guidekick, Inc., USA
For MW2014 attendees we will be doing in-person demos of the Guidekick Fort McHenry Experience experience on native iPhone, Android, and Google Glass. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 805-602-7714 in order to schedule a demo in Baltimore.
Guidekick is a mobile interpretive tool that creates an immersive storytelling experience for visitors at museums, heritage sites, and historical attractions. Our technology triggers story sequences (leveraging augmented reality, historic images, narrated audio, music, and video) in real-time as visitors approach what looks interesting to them. Our goal is to recreate each era of existence for every historical location in the world and enable visitors to observe and interact with those environments while they’re on location.
To preview a location using Guidekick, please download the iPhone or Android app for Hearst Castle, located in San Simeon, California. The launch of the Hearst Castle app was internationally recognized by Apple as the #1 “Best New App” in the Travel category, and the Google Glass app was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and on Pando Daily.
